Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers participated in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
