Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player secured his initial championship for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid period, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden trophy following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface from spring of 2023.

The win also means he has secured 21 titles at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to question if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.

Yet the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better service.

He recovered from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

Moutet saved 4 early-game chances in a tight third set before the Russian broke to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
